PORTFOLIO

Marketing Collateral

Choosing the correct collateral isn't simply about putting your pretty new logo on everything in sight. It's important to figure out who your market is and what medium they respond best to. (This should be part of your marketing plan!) I've worked with a number of clients on a budget to identify the most effective marketing pieces for their business, designed those pieces and set up tracking to identify the impact and effectiveness of the collateral.

Websites & Digital Marketing

I enjoy building websites inWordPress, and have used template-based sites like Wix and Squarespace. I have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, and can edit snippets of code. I'm also proficient with email marketing software, social media platforms, Google AdWords and remarketing campaigns, blogging, writing content for SEO and optimizing images for web.

Since it's important to quantify your marketing efforts as effectively as possible, I've learned to use Google AdWords and Analytics to track, evaluate and adapt website performance and digital/SEM campaigns.

Advertisements

I began my graphic design career learning to design print advertisements. Filling as much information and visual appeal into a small space, sending a message and maintaining the branding while keeping the ad clean and clear. Of course advertisements now have become multi-dimensional pieces with the advent of digital ads, and I have experience creating lightweight, attention grabbing ads that are easy to track and measure.

Branding

A fundamental part of building any business is establishing a core brand based on your mission, values, unique selling points and clientele. Many of my freelance clients and Score Mentees are entrepreneurs just starting out, who have a business model and vision, but need a partner to help bring that vision to life. My favorite projects are ones in which we work together to create a logo and marketing message that reflects the business, then translate it to printed collateral, a website, signage, advertisements and engaging digital marketing.

Digital Artwork

I enjoy bridging the gap between work and play, using the same vector creation software I do while designing professionally. I use Adobe Illustrator (occasionally complimented by Photoshop) and sometimes a photo as inspiration to create a final piece composed of layers of vector images.

Video

I have experience shooting and editing video for short promos using Adobe Premiere Pro and occasionally Adobe AfterEffects. I wouldn't call myself an expert, but video editing is an interest I continue to develop and enjoy doing!

Shown above: At Witham Family Hotels, each year we have an employee recognition night called the Witham Choice Awards. It’s a fantastic event at the end of a long season to thank everyone for their hard work and have a few laughs. Not only do I design all of the collateral and design elements of the event, but as part of the evening’s entertainment I created a video each year, filled with video clips of our employees. Click below to view the 2016 and 2017 videos, which I shot myself and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. They are by no means of a professional calibre, and in several places I used graphic templates for the more complicated graphics, but they are certainly a good laugh! (Turn on the sound)
